Paris never sleeps during summer

Categories : Entertainment, published on : 6/1/17

So, you think that Paris goes to sleep for part of the summer? It’s a common misconception and quite wrong. Even though some locals go off on holiday, Parisian evenings lose none of their brilliance. Enjoy a cocktail in a cool bar, catch some live rock music - you can satisfy all your desires in Paris in summer.  Here are the addresses of a few cocktail bars that are recommended by the Chess Hotel team. Trust us, they’re well worth a visit.

Linger over cocktails in Paris

Organising cocktails in Paris can be a delicate task since the choice of venue is one of the most important details. Super cosy, designer hangout, Latino, electro, or traditional, everyone can find their perfect cocktail bar in Paris. The Little Red Door is one of our current favourites; a discreet bar with a subtle, elegant atmosphere that is brought to life by an electro playlist as the evening progresses. The Bluebird in the lively 11th arrondissement takes us back in time to California in the 1950s and boasts over 30 varieties of gin! By contrast, the Gravity Bar takes décor to a new level with visionary design features such as the massive steel bar and wave effect ceiling and an innovative drinks menu. Finally, the Experimental Cocktail Club is an intimate speakeasy that’s known for its calm, seductive atmosphere and its regularly updated menu.

A rock festival in a 400-hectare park that’s a classified Historical Monument? That’s Rock en Seine. The festival has made the Parc de Saint-Cloud at the Port of Paris its home since 2003. Four stages, a stellar line-up, and over 40,000 festival-goers per day make it one of the season’s not-to-be-missed events. The line-up for the 2017 edition includes PJ Harvey, Franz Ferdinand, Peter Peter and Cypress Hill, plus many other bands who will electrify Paris from 25th to 27th August.
