Why not take advantage of your stay at the Chess Hotel to discover an original exhibition that brings together science and creativity while also providing illuminating insights into history and ethnography? The Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle is currently presenting a fascinating event in collaboration with the famous jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels called Pierres Précieuses (Precious Stones).

Van Cleef at the Muséum National: mineralogy, gemology and the art of jewellery

The original approach of this extraordinary exhibition is to place precious stones in a global and multifaceted context, from their birth in the depths of the earth to their transformations under heat and pressure and their use as symbols of power, instruments of seduction and objects of scientific study. Creativity is honoured, both that of Nature and that of man, through the wonders of the jewellery fashioned by Van Cleef & Arpels.

Enjoy the exhibition and more

The exhibition entitled Precious Stones brings together no fewer than 500 mineral specimens and some 200 gems and jewellery creations.
