White Night in Paris

Categories : Events, published on : 9/20/18

Stellar metaphors illuminate the 2018 version of the Parisian White Night! Its satellite constellations invite you to immerse yourself in temporary and magical modern art installations and performances that highlight the sometimes secret parts of Paris. An outstanding and intense experience that has been captivating participants since 2002.

A White Night featuring the great names of contemporary art

White Night (Nuit Blanche) is an opportunity for the world's most famous visual artists to express themselves in unique settings. Abdelkader Benchamma will create a fresco on the theme of chaos at the Collège des Bernardins, Fabien Léaustic will install a spouting red geyser at Villette and Eric Minh Cuong Castaing presents dancing children and robots near the Golden Gate. These highly original performances are just individual stages of the "constellations" mapping this year's Nuit Blanche.

Find your way around during the White Night

The event will take place during the night of October 6 to 7, 2018 at various locations in Paris. The entire journey is free and you're free to follow the constellations from place to place or to catch a performance here and an exhibition there. Don’t forget to explore the satellites, a series of "off" performances which are pleasantly grafted on to the main event. Ultimately, you'll enjoy a huge range of contemporary art at your own pace. After an evening that is designed to be accessible to all, return with a head full of stars and enjoy a well-earned rest in your room at Chess Hotel Paris.

Paris is a hub of contemporary art where trends are born, and talent is nurtured.  For example, the White Night has made the brave choice to connect the city, the artists, the passers-by, the night owls who want to linger over a performance and the passionate fans who organise their trip in advance free of charge for over 15 years.
