The Van Gogh exhibition at the Atelier des Lumières; an eye-opening experience

Offering an amazing experience that’s completely different from those provided by staid museum galleries, the Atelier des Lumières invites you step into the world of art. This digital art centre immerses you in the heart of the works displayed. This year, discover the genius of Van Gogh!

The Atelier des Lumières puts Van Gogh in the spotlight

Get ready for a surprising stroll through the works of Vincent van Gogh. The Atelier des Lumières occupies the premises of a former steel foundry. These vast spaces are used incredibly effectively because the walls, ceilings and floors become screens for the projection of paintings by the Dutch master. The resultant scale and perspective emphasise even the smallest details and reveal the dynamism in each brush stroke as well as the density and warmth of the colours. The work of Van Gogh is thus revealed in all its complexity and finesse.

A new way of looking at art

The current Atelier des Lumières exhibition traces Van Gogh's artistic journey through his most famous works, such as The Starry Night, which gives its name to the exhibition, as well as through other lesser-known ones. Art enthusiasts will find answers to questions about the artist's evolution while casual visitors will be content to be overwhelmed by emotions they don’t not have to be a connoisseur to appreciate. Feeling like you are journeying inside the paintings is an experience of immense appeal to all ages.

Van Gogh; Starry Night is at the Atelier des Lumières until December 31st, 2019. Tickets can be purchased online and it’s a good idea to do so in advance. Please don’t hesitate to contact your Chess Hotel team, who will give you all the necessary information.
