The summer exhibition; A Vision for Painting
For your enjoyment during your Parisian break, the Chess Hotel recommends the new exhibition presented by the Louis Vuitton Foundation, in the heart of the Bois de Boulogne. Drawn from the Foundation's extensive collections, this selection of 70 works entitled A Vision for Painting invites you on a journey into contemporary creation.
A Vision for Painting; a new event
Each new exhibition offered by the Louis Vuitton Foundation is an event, such is the depth, quality and thought put into them. A Vision for Painting gathers works by nearly two-dozen artists from the 60s to the present day around the theme of painting and the way this mode of expression constantly reinvents itself and transgresses its own rules. Thematic ensembles dealing with abstraction, space and colour alternate with rooms dedicated to individual artists, creating an exhibition route full of surprises.
The treasures of the Louis Vuitton Foundation
This exhibition, which runs until August 26th, demonstrates the incredible diversity of the Foundation's collections. A Vision for Painting presents an exhilaratingly diverse selection of works by artists such as Joan Mitchell, Jesús Rafael Soto, Alex Katz, Ettore Spalletti and Yayoi Kusama. Figurative or abstract, playing with volume, colour and effects, they give the paintings all their art and magic. A visit to this exhibition is also an opportunity to discover the avant-garde architecture of the building that gives it the appearance of a large sailing ship docked in the Bois de Boulogne, about ten minutes from the centre of the capital.
During the warm summer days there is nothing like immersing yourself in the freshness of one of the largest green spaces in Paris, while encountering contemporary art. With its original and accessible approach, the Louis Vuitton Foundation invites you on a journey that is exciting for art aficionados and the simply curious alike.
