The Art Paris Art Fair; a global art and design event

Categories : Events, published on : 2/19/15

Spring is on its way to Paris and so is the art world. As the days grown longer and the trees begin to bud, the art events year really gets into high gear, with two interlinked shows scheduled for March 26th to 29th. The enchanting Beaux Arts architecture of the Grand Palais will form an entirely appropriate and very lovely backdrop for the Art Paris Art Fair, a show that brings together a wide ranging selection of modern and contemporary art, along with the related fields of design, photography and art book publishing. At the same time you can find the trailblazing art and design event PAD at the Tuileries - Esplanade des Feuillants.

The Art Paris Art Fair and PAD focus the art world on Paris

The international impact of the Art Paris Art Fair cannot be underestimated, as around half of those who participate come from outside of France. Some 2,000 artists from over 20 countries are represented by 140 galleries. Each year a region of the world is chosen as an international guest of honour and in 2015 it’s the turn of Singapore and Southeast Asia to be in the spotlight. There is a lot of excitement about the vibrant art scene in this part of the world, and this event gives western artists, dealers and collectors the opportunity to find out why.

Meanwhile, Paris Art and Design – PAD - will be mounting the kind of eclectic event for which it has gained a well-deserved reputation over the last eighteen years. Around 75 French and international galleries will be representing the work of artists and designers working in the areas of modern art, decorative arts, contemporary design, ceramics, glass, jewellery and more, as well as providing a forum for related services and industries. PAD also brings up and coming talent to prominence before an audience of around 40,000 visitors. A special focus this year will be on primitive and tribal art.
